During the course of this Memo-
-randum the Chief Justice makes a great number of charges
against Mr. E. A. Hewett, to which I have no doubt that
gentleman would have much to say in reply, but pending any
instructions from Your Lordship to that effect I do not
propose to inform him of them, since the result would only
be to accentuate and prolong ill-feeling.
